Weekly Storytimes

Join us as we reinforce pre-reading skills through age-appropriate early literacy classes that include stories, rhyme, songs, and fingerplays. A parent/caregiver must attend and participate with children during all classes. All weekly classes are held in the Cynthia Bennett Program Room located in the Children's Wing. Space is limited. A free ticket is required to attend classes. Tickets are distributed from the Youth Services Desk on a first-come, first-served basis beginning 30-minutes before the class start time. For more information, call the Youth Services desk at 972.219.3577.  All groups with six or more children must pre-arrange event and class visits with the Youth Services Supervisor at 972.219.3577.

Storytimes are on hiatus for August and will return September 5.

Mother Goose Time
For infants, ages 0-15 months

  • Mondays, 11:15 a.m.
  • Thursdays, 1:30 p.m.

A lap-sit class designed to encourage one-on-one interaction between adult and child. Note: A parent or caregiver must attend with each infant. Ticket required. Space is limited, so plan to arrive early. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Youth Services Desk, 30 minutes before the start of the class.

Bilingual Mother Goose Time
For infants, ages 0-15 months

  • Tuesdays, 1:30 p.m.

A dual-language lap-sit class designed to encourage one-on-one interaction between adult and child presented in Spanish & English. Note: A parent or caregiver must attend with each infant. Ticket required. Space is limited, so plan to arrive early. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Youth Services Desk, 30 minutes before the start of the class.

Spanish Mother Goose Time

Spanish Toddler Time
For toddlers, ages 15-36 months
