Over a few classes in April, our Prime Explorations class (ages 6-8) learned about seeds, plants, and monarch butterfly migration. They then helped plant butterfly-friendly flowers and plants in the Library Learning Garden. Many of the seedlings were donated by LLELA, Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area. We planted both seedlings and seeds of alyssum, coneflower, lantana, marigolds, bee balm, and more. As summer progresses, we look forward to watching our garden grow and fueling monarch butterflies on their migration. The Library Learning Garden is located on the north side of the library. Come see what blooms and don't forget to check out a LLELA Field Observation Backpack from the children's section! Backpacks include a free day pass to LLELA as well as bug and bird identification guides, binoculars, bug viewers, and more!
