The Library building remains closed to the public.
Some drive-up service resumes on May 1st.

Drive-Up Services

book iconThe drive-up book return is open to allow patrons to return library materials. Returned items are isolated and not checked in for 72 hours (3 days). Items will stay on patron accounts during the isolation period, but will not accrue late fees. Oversized items that do not fit in the book return must be returned via the drive-up window when it reopens on May 8.

The drive-up window located off of Civic Circle is open for patrons to pick-up items that have been placed on hold.

  • Search for items and place holds via the Library's catalog.
  • Patrons should wait to receive notification that their hold is ready to be picked up before heading to the Library.
  • After receiving notification that an item is ready for pick-up, drive-up to the Library's pick-up window and present your library card. A staff person will scan your library card, checkout your items, and hand them to you through the window.

Important Things to Note Regarding Drive-Up Service:

  • Payments will not be accepted at the drive-up window. Patrons needing to pay their library fines and fees in order to clear their account must do so online before coming to the Library to pick-up materials. Accounts with a balance of more than $4.99 are blocked from borrowing materials and accessing digital resources. Details on how to pay your account balance online are provided at the bottom of this page.
  •  At this time, new library cards are not being issued at the drive-up window. Denton County residents ages 13 and over may apply online for a temporary library card that allows access to our digital collections and online resources. See the section below on Library Cards & Accounts.
  •  Patrons can place holds on library materials and pay account balances online via My Account. Click here to access your library account online.
