The Come & Go phase at the Library is designed to allow patrons access to computers, internet/WiFi, fax, scan, and printing services, and study spaces in a limited capacity and by appointment only, to ensure social distancing, sanitation, and safety guidelines for the protection of all library patrons and staff. COME & GO GUIDELINES - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

  • Only individuals with an appointment will be admitted into the Library. Patrons with an appointment must arrive no later than five minutes after the start of their appointment time, otherwise their appointment will be cancelled. Patrons who are late or do not show for an appointment may not reschedule that day.
  • Patrons must wear a face mask or face covering over their nose and mouth at all times while in the Library and observe social distancing of at least six feet. Children under the age of 10 years are not required to wear a mask. The CDC does not recommend use of face shields for normal everyday activities or as a substitute for cloth face coverings.
  • All patrons must have their temperature checked by Library staff before entering the building. Anyone with a temperature over 100.4 degrees will not be allowed to enter the Library. Temperature check procedures will be posted at the Library.
  • No food is allowed in the Library. A beverage in a container with a lid is permitted.
  • Patrons are reminded to frequently use hand sanitizer and/or wash their hands. A hand sanitizer tower is available in the Library lobby.
  • During the Come & Go phase, the rest of the Library building remains closed to the public. All collections are closed. No browsing, borrowing, or returning of materials inside the Library will be allowed.
  • All public computers, study spaces, and services available during this phase are located on the 1st floor only and are spaced at least six feet apart to observe social distancing guidelines.
  • Only one person age 13 and over is allowed per assigned computer or study space to maintain social distancing. If a patron needs to bring a second person for assistance due to physical limitations or a parent/guardian is accompanying a child, the accompanying person will be asked to wait at a café table in the lobby to maintain social distancing. A small family group may make an appointment for the Computer Lab.
  • No library cards will be issued inside the Library.
  • No payments will be accepted at the Library service desks.
  • Library staff will attempt to assist with patron questions but will maintain social distancing or keep masked interactions brief in keeping with recommended COVID precautions.
  • Patrons must leave the building promptly at the conclusion of their appointment to allow library staff time to sanitize the area and prepare for the next group of appointments. Patrons may leave early if they are finished before the end of their two-hour appointment.

Appointment Categories
A limited number of public computers and study spaces are available for use by appointment. Fax-Scan-Copy appointments are also available. One two-hour appointment per person per day is allowed. Appointments are available in designated two-hour blocks, Monday-Thursday and Saturday.

  • A Lewisville library card is required to log onto the computer. (Cardholders may also use their Texas driver license number in place of their library card number.)
  • Denton County residents ages 13 and over, who do not already have a library card, are eligible to register online for a temporary card that will allow them access to a computer. Click here to register for a temporary library card.
  • Library accounts with a balance more than $4.99 are blocked from accessing a computer. Patrons will need to pay their fines/fees online before arriving at the Library. Click here to log into your library account to pay your balance.
  • Patrons without a library card may be issued a one-time use guest pass. A guest pass will only be issued once. After that the patron will need to register online for a temporary library card. If the patron is not eligible for a temporary card, they will need to wait until the Library reopens fully to get a full-privilege card.

 Self-serve printing, copying, scanning, and faxing are available in the Copy-Print Center.

  • Payment for printing/copying/faxing must be made by credit/debit card or cash at the Print Release Station in the Copy-Print Center. Library staff cannot troubleshoot cash payments or make change, so credit/debit card is the recommended method of payment.
  • Scanning at the Library Document Station is free. Patrons may scan-to-email or scan-to-USB.
  • Black & White printing/copies: $0.15 per page
  • Color printing/copies: $0.50 per page
  • Fax: $0.50 per page
  • Be aware that other patrons may also be using the Copy-Print Center. Patrons should follow the signs and floor markers to maintain social distancing.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Seating at the genius bar is a bar stool which some patrons may have difficulty stepping up into. Please consider a study table instead if the height of the bar stool may be an issue.

  • A library card is not required for a study space appointment.
  • Patrons using a study table or genius bar must bring their own device, such as a laptop or tablet, on which to access the Library's WiFi.
  • Library laptops will not be available for checkout. 

Self-serve printing via MobilePrint, copying, scanning, and faxing are available in the Copy-Print Center.

  • Patrons using their personal laptop or mobile device must use MobilePrint to send print jobs to the Library's printers. Click here for instructions on using MobilePrint.

 Fax-Scan-Copy

This appointment category is for access to the Copy-Print Center ONLY for self-serve use of a copier and/or the Library Document Station for faxing and scanning.

  • Patrons with a Fax-Scan-Copy appointment may only access the services in the Copy-Print Center during their appointment. They will not be allowed to access a computer, study table, or other areas of the Library.
  • Only one person age 13 and over allowed per Fax-Scan-Copy appointment.
  • A Library card is not required to use the copier or Library Document Station to fax or scan.  
 The fax, scan, and copy services are all self-serve. 
  • Scanning at the Library Document Station is free. Patrons may scan-to-email or scan-to-USB.
  • Black & White copies: $0.15 per page
  • Color copies: $0.50 per page
  • Fax: $0.50 per page
  • Payment for faxing and copies is to be done at the respective machines in the Copy-Print Center by credit/debit card or cash. No payments will be taken at the Accounts Desk. The Library cannot troubleshoot cash payments or make change at this time so credit/debit card is the recommended method of payment.
  • Be aware that other patrons may also be using the Copy-Print Center. Patrons should follow the signs and floor markers to maintain social distancing.

 

Making an Appointment

  • Individuals must have an appointment to be admitted entry into the Library. Appointments must be made in advance. No walk-ins are allowed. 
  • Individuals are limited to one two-hour appointment per day for one of the categories listed above. Appointments may be made one day in advance. Up to five total appointments per person, across all categories, may be made per week.
  • Appointments may be made using the Library's Online Reservation system. An email address is required to make an appointment online. If an individual is unable to access the Online Reservation system, they may call the Library at 972.219.3570, option 3, to make an appointment by phone.
  • A confirmation email and a reminder email will be sent to the email provided when the appointment is made. The email will provide detailed instructions on arriving for your appointment. 
  • Appointments are available in designated two-hour blocks according to the following schedule to ensure that staff are able to manage the flow of patrons in and out of the building, and to clean and sanitize the area between appointments. 
  • Patrons may leave early if they are finished before the end of their two-hour appointment.

Monday-Thursday, appointments begin at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 4 p.m. On Saturdays, appointments begin at 11:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. In order to manage the flow of patrons in and out of the building, appointments may not be made to start in the middle of a two-hour block.

Arriving For Your Appointment

  • Patrons with an appointment must enter through the EAST entrance only. The West entrance is closed. Signs are posted on Civic Circle and Valley Parkway directing patrons to the appropriate side of the building.
  • Patrons must arrive no later than five minutes after the start of their appointment time, otherwise the appointment will be cancelled. Patrons who are late or do not show for an appointment may not reschedule that day.
  • Line up at the east entrance, following the guides on the ground to help you remain six feet from others.
  • Patrons will go through a series of checkpoints to enter the Library, including a temperature check by a library staff member. A library staff member will show you to your assigned computer or study space or to the Copy-Print Center.
  • Remember, the rest of the Library building remains closed to the public. All collections are closed. No browsing, borrowing, or returning of materials inside the Library will be allowed.
  • Patrons must leave the building promptly at the conclusion of their appointment to allow library staff time to sanitize the area and prepare for the next group of appointments. Patrons may leave early if they are finished before the end of their two-hour appointment.

Come & Go Guideline Violations
In order to protect the health and safety of our patrons and staff, the rules for the Come & Go phase must be followed. Failure to follow the rules and directives given by Library staff will result in the following.

  • Refuse temperature check = not allowed into the building
  • Refuse to wear a mask = not allowed into the building
  • Not wearing a mask in the building or not observing social distancing when able to do so:
    • 1st occurrence = verbal warning
    • 2nd occurrence = asked to leave the building
    • If asked to leave, the patron loses appointment privileges during the Come & Go phase, but can return once the Library fully reopens to the public.
