The Library's Crawford Meeting Room is named for Mrs. Geraldine Crawford. Mrs. Crawford was one of the volunteers instrumental in establishing Lewisville's community library in the early 1950s. The room name was changed to the Crawford Meeting Room in November 2006.
An avid reader Mrs. Crawford was instrumental in helping to set up the first lending library in Lewisville. She served as a member of the library board from 1980-1989. A meeting room in the present library was named in her honor. She was recognized by the Lewisville City Council in September 1992 for her dedication in inspiring the community to establish a public library for the benefit of generations of readers.
