The Library Board shall act only in an advisory to the City Council and the Library Director in matters pertaining to library services. The Board shall acquaint itself with and make a continuous study of library services. The Board shall receive suggestions and recommendations from the city staff, council and public related to the development of the library and library services, and shall make recommendations to the City Council and the Library Director regarding the same.

The Library Board meets the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

Library Board members are appointed by City Council and must be qualified voters and residents of the City of Lewisville. Up to two Castle Hills residents can serve on this board per Ordinance No. 0109-19-ORD approved on March 4, 2019. 

The Library Board was established by Lewisville City Charter, Section 11.11; Ordinance No. 1019, adopted January 22, 1968; and Ordinance No 2693 (amended), adopted June 18, 2001.
