The Lewisville Public Library offers an assistive technology station designed for individuals with limited to no vision or hearing. The station is equipped with reading, writing and magnification equipment and software that enables people with disabilities to create and read print and electronic material. Individuals can also access the Lewisville Public Library online catalog and the Internet.

The assistive technology station is located on the 2nd floor of the Library and is available for public use during the library's normal hours of operation. Customers wishing to use the assistive technology station should first visit the Adult Services Desk on the 2nd floor to inquire about availability.

  • SARA CE scanner/reader device
  • ZoomText 2020 Mag Readers

The level of complexity for each assistive software program varies. Library staff are not able to provide actual training on how to use the assistive technologies. Users should contact their state counselor for training opportunities on specific assistive equipment and/or software. Library staff are available to assist users with starting the computer programs, printing, and other basic computer troubleshooting.
