Equipment Training

Prior to using some of The Hive machinery, Makers must complete a mandatory training for the specific type of equipment being used. Repeat training may be required after a period of non-use, if proficient use of the machine is not demonstrated, if equipment changes, or at any other time Library staff deems necessary. Training is required for use of the following machinery:

• Laser cutter
• Carvey CNC milling machine
• Embroidery machine

Online Training

Online training is available for The Hive equipment. Patrons new to The Hive must complete the online training before making a reservation. Patrons new to The Hive must sign the user agreement when they arrive for their first reservation.

This informational training will be packed with everything you need to skip the Helix training and go straight to using the Fusion Pro laser cutter. Learn the basics of engraving and vector cutting on the laser cutter and see the machine in action. Class will begin promptly at 6 p.m.

Open to adults and teens ages 13 and up. Registration is required. Registration opens two weeks before the class.
