Silhouette Curio

The Silhouette Curio is a hobby machine that uses a variety of tools to emboss, stipple, etch, and cut into various materials using your designs created in the Silhouette Studio software.

1. All patrons requesting to use the Curio must have a valid full privilege Lewisville library card in good standing and have filled out The Hive Use Agreement prior to checking out the machine.
2. Files for use on the Curio can be created using the Silhouette Studio® software. Silhouette Studio® is a free software available at www.silhouetteamerica.com/software
3. Makers are limited to one reservation per machine type per week. After a reservation has been used, if available, Makers can use the machine on a first come, first serve basis.
4. The Curio is a mobile checkout and can be used with your personal laptop or a library laptop, as long as it is used inside The Hive. The Curio must be connected to a PC via USB in order to work.
5. The Curio may be checked out for one, three-hour period per day. The Curio must be checked out at The Hive service desk and is only available for use in The Hive.
6. For safety purposes, all patrons must stay with their Curio projects as they are running. There is no mandatory training for this machine.

• Kits are available to borrow when using the CAMEO that include tools for weeding (cleaning) vinyl projects.
